FPSO is an Iraqi Non Governmental Organization aiming at the humanitarian aspects of people relationships between themselves and with their communities by upgrading the friendship values , the Importance of peaceful handling of daily matters through consolidating support and solidarity among the members of society
founded in 1978 after The unification of friendship societies union and Iraqi Peace Counsel It has 65 friendship committees in The organization was always active in its internationally presence. In all conferences, which held in, there was a role for the organization of friendship, peace and solidarity. Most of these conferences dealt with humanitarian global support During the past period, in the old regime the organization was under strict supervision and control of the government, even the president of the organization and all its members are appointed by the government and it was used as one of the regime's tools and a political propaganda body With the dramatic changes in Free say and activities, and free election of its administrative staff on 14 / 6 / 2003 the members of the organization arranged the first free election in its history and they have chosen Mr. Walid K.Issa Taha as the organization president and the rest of his team of assistants to start a new live and energetic rise up to fulfill the aims and goals they set to themselves. and as no exception from all governmental Iraqi entities on the first hours of the fall of the old system the organization headquarters, building, and possesses have been badly damaged , destroyed and looted in a way it is no longer suitable for accommodating the organization But that did not stopped it from rearranging what is left, and organize itself in a contingency plan, starting in a temporary site offered by its newly elected president within his own commercial complex
